You can withdraw Kwacha to a Zambian bank account in your own name.
Just so you know, you are not allowed to withdraw the Kwacha from your VALR account into a bank account that is not in your own name.
The first step is to link your Zambian bank account for Kwacha (ZMW) withdrawals. To link your bank account, you can follow these steps:
- Sign in to your VALR account.
- Navigate to the Payment Methods option under your profile name.
- Click on Link a bank account.
- Enter your bank account details (the account must be in your own name).
- Click next and an authorisation email will be sent.
- Navigate to your email(on the same device), and click to authorise a new bank account.
- You'll be sent back to the exchange, then have to enter a one-time pin OR your 2FA code.
Your bank account will now successfully be linked.
Once you have linked your bank account, you can follow these steps to withdraw Kwacha (ZMW):
- Sign in to your VALR account.
- Go to your Wallets page.
- Click on Withdraw on your Kwacha (ZMW) Wallet.
- Select the bank account you want to withdraw to.
- Enter the amount of Kwacha (ZMW) you wish to withdraw.
- Then, click on Review withdrawal.
- Ensure you have entered all the details correctly, and confirm your withdrawal.
- Enter a One-Time pin (OTP) or 2FA code to validate your withdrawal.
A few things to remember:
- VALR processes FIAT withdrawals on an ongoing basis from Monday to Saturday between 08h00 and 18h00 SAST (UTC+2).
- Withdrawals can take up to 2 business days to get settled in your bank account.
- Withdrawals are not processed on Public Holidays and Sundays as banks are closed.
- VALR cannot be held responsible for delays in withdrawals as banking systems sometimes go offline, which is beyond our control.
- Sometimes, customers have been sent to a different browser when authorising linking a bank account. If you experience this problem, please just copy the link below the button on the authorisation email we sent you and paste that link back into the original browser you used to add your bank account.
