What are Crypto Loans?
Crypto Loans allows you to borrow funds against the assets in your account. Collateral would be reserved while your loan is outstanding.
How do Crypto Loans work?
The Crypto Loans feature is only available on margin enabled sub-accounts. Crypto Loans can be made from the Transfer page, and from the withdrawal page on margin enabled sub-accounts.
Margin trading can be enabled on your sub-account from the Transfer page, and from the withdrawal page on the sub-account you wish to utilize for your Crypto Loans. You can also enable margin trading on a sub-account by following the steps here. Crypto Loans are not available on your Main Account.

How much can I borrow with Crypto Loans, and how will interest be charged?
Interest is variable and will be charged hourly. The interest would be capitalised into the loan.
The hourly interest rate that you'd likely be charged next for your Crypto Loan will be displayed after checking the "Borrow with Crypto Loans" box, and selecting the currency you wish to borrow on the Transfer funds page.
The likely next hourly interest rate would be displayed after checking the "Borrow with Crypto Loans" box on the Withdrawal page.
An estimate of the maximum amount that you can borrow in the selected currency will be displayed above the hourly interest rate. This is based on the spot margin leverage multiple of the account.
Once you've entered the amount you wish to transfer, or withdraw, the amount and currency of the Crypto Loan will be displayed below the box.

Liquidation
When an account falls below its maintenance margin, the value of its equity has dropped far enough that the risk that assets in the account won’t cover all of the debt is beyond acceptable limits.
VALR aims to liquidate accounts well before there is a risk of permanent loss. We achieve this by gradually selling off assets when the account falls below maintenance margin.
You can view your initial, maintenance and current account margin on the Pro Trading exchange pages.
