Shared Account Access allows you to securely grant other users access to your VALR account while controlling the actions they can perform.
You can invite trusted users to access your account and assign permissions based on the actions they need to perform. Depending on the permissions granted, guests may be able to:
- View account information
- Trade
- Initiate crypto withdrawals
- Initiate fiat withdrawals
- Link and manage bank accounts
- Perform internal transfers
- Create API keys
All actions performed by guests are recorded in the account Audit Trail.
Approval Settings
You can require approval for certain actions performed on your account, including:
- Crypto withdrawals
- Fiat withdrawals
- Bank account linking
- Internal transfers
When approvals are enabled, requests submitted on the account will require approval before they can be processed. Email notifications will be sent whenever a request requiring approval is created.
Requests can be reviewed, approved or rejected from the Approvals tab.
Note: The user who initiated a request may cancel their own request before it is approved.
Permission Types:
View Access
View Access provides read-only access to account information.
Guests with View Access can view:
- Balances
- Transaction history
- Shared account users
- Crypto wallet addresses
- Linked bank account details
- API key names
How do I create and share a shared account?
1. Login to your VALR account from the website (valr.com).
2. Click the grid icon in the top right corner, then click on Shared Accounts.
3. Select the account you would like to share and configure any approval requirements for actions performed by guests.
4. To share your account, navigate to the Guest Settings tab and click on Invite your first guest.
5. Enter your guest's email address and select the permissions you would like your guest to have. Click Continue.
6. You will receive an email with a link to authorise sharing of your account. Once approved, you will need to enter your 2FA one-time pin.
7. Your guest will receive an email invitation to access your account. Once accepted, they will be able to access the account based on the permissions granted.
Important Information
- Share access only with people you know and trust.
- Every action performed on your account by your guests will be logged and can be viewed in the Audit Trail tab under the Main Account settings.
- You must have 2FA enabled on your account to invite guests and accept invitations.
- You can revoke access to your shared account at any time by navigating to Shared Accounts, selecting the account, opening Guest Settings and removing the guest's access.
- If your guest does not have a VALR account, they will receive an email prompting them to create one before accepting the invitation.
- VALR Pay transactions are not supported on guest accounts.
