Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an extra security layer, in addition to your username and password, that is used to verify your identity and enhance your account’s security. This extra layer of security consists of an extra piece of information that only you as the account holder should have access to.
By default, VALR enables SMS 2FA to enhance your account’s security. However, to secure your account even further (as SMS 2FA can be susceptible to SIM Swap and other attacks), VALR recommends the use of an Authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, to improve your account’s security and get VALR’s “Fully-verified PLUS” account status.
