VALR has partnered with Circle, one of the leading payments and blockchain infrastructure players globally, to enable deposits and withdrawals of USD Coin (USDC) via USD wire transfers. This onramp now allows users to easily trade on USDC trading pairs like BTC/USDC, USDC/ZAR, etc.
Linking USD Bank account.
Before you can begin the transfers of USD, the first step is to link your USD bank account.
Log in to your VALR account using the VALR website. Once logged in to your VALR account, navigate to the "Bank Accounts" section.
You'll notice a new option to link an account for deposits and withdrawals of USD.
Eligible bank accounts for USDC deposit and withdrawal via wire:

Please note that countries might have capital controls in place which might in practice limit your ability to process wire transfers from/to those countries.
After opting to link a bank account for USDC funding, you'll see the relevant terms and conditions. Please read carefully before proceeding.
You will then see a screen to enter relevant details to link your bank account.
Please note that linking an account for USDC funding requires your bank account details and physical address.
It is vital to include accurate information on this page that exactly matches the details that your bank has on record for you. Please confirm these details with your bank before linking a bank account if any details are unclear.
First up, enter the details of your bank (Some additional fields are included depending on bank location):
Next, enter your bank account details.
Some banks use a different bank account number for international payments, please check whether this is the case with your bank and if it is please include the international account number in the account number field:
Finally, enter your personal physical address as per bank records:
Once you are satisfied that the above details are correct, click to authorise and then check your email for an authorisation link. Click on that authorisation link (on the same device) and you'll be redirected to VALR with a summary of your bank details and request to enter OTP.
Once you've entered OTP, your newly linked bank account will be visible on the Bank accounts screen:
Alternative USDC deposit options
Click on deposit from to deposit from your bank account to VALR, credited in USDC. The first time you click on deposit from, a unique deposit reference will be generated for USDC deposits via wire.
Likewise, you can click on "Withdraw to" to withdraw USDC directly to your USD bank account.
You may also link a bank account for USD wire transfers via the Wallets tab.
Simply navigate to the USD Coin card and select "Deposit/Withdraw".
You'll be prompted to deposit USDC via ERC20 or via USD wire transfer. By selecting USD wire transfer, you'll be directed to link a bank account for USD wire deposits.
Important: Please ensure you use the correct CIR**** reference as the beneficiary reference (sometimes known as the "To" reference or "Receiving" reference) when you make a wire deposit to VALR. If you use the incorrect reference, your deposit will likely fail and have to be returned to your bank account after a fee of 75 USDC.
