Legal Requirements for Information Disclosure
To comply with South African data protection laws and our internal privacy policies, VALR can only release customer information to authorised law enforcement personnel upon receipt of a valid:
Subpoena;
Court Order; or
Production Order

How Long Does VALR Take to Respond?
VALR requests at least 30 calendar days to respond to information requests to ensure that we can collect, verify, and provide as much relevant information as possible. That said, our team will always aim to respond as soon as possible, depending on the complexity of the request and the volume of incoming matters at the time.
If your request is urgent, please indicate this clearly in your submission along with reasons for the urgency. We will do our best to prioritise your request and provide a realistic timeline for response.
Jurisdiction and International Requests
If your request originates outside of South Africa, you may need to follow the procedures outlined in applicable mutual legal assistance treaties (MLATs) or other cross-border legal instruments.
We recommend seeking legal guidance in your jurisdiction to initiate the appropriate process with South African authorities.
Urgent or Time-Sensitive Requests
If your request is urgent (e.g. relating to imminent harm or serious financial crime), please indicate the nature and reason for urgency in your correspondence. VALR will prioritise such matters to the extent permitted by law.
